Janet Marshall started her career in dance with a Royal Academy of Dance scholarship and furthered her training with a diploma from the Ballet Rambert. She worked in the professional theatre both in London and around the UK for a number of years before founding her own dance school in Cheltenham in 19XX.

Over the years this has grown to include branch schools, which deliver dance to a wide area surrounding Cheltenham. Cheltenham Ladies College, Dean Close School and St Edwards School all now have dance delivered by Janet and her team. Janet is the area organiser of the ISTD Cotswold region and has been a major examiner for many years in ballet, modern theatre and tap, both in the UK and internationally. Most recently she has been elected to the ballet committee of the Imperial Society. Many of her former pupils are now working around the world as professional dancers, teachers and examiners.

Lauren began her training at the age of 4 at Dance Pointe in Stroud, studying Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap.

During this time she took part in many productions, concerts, and fashion shows for clients such as Giorgio Armani and Donna Karen. At 19, after a year away in London at University she decided to transfer to the University of Gloucestershire to complete her business degree but at the same time pursue her love for teaching dance and choreography and start her teacher training here at Janet Marshall Dance Studios. She currently holds the DDE status with the ISTD.

Carol has been a teacher at Janet Marshall for many years. She holds the licentiate status of the ISTD in both imperial ballet and modern theatre dance and is a fully registered member of the RAD.

Over the years Carol has been involved on and off stage with local amateur productions both as a performer and choreographer, but teaching is her great love. There is always something new to learn – each day is always different and varied. In her spare time she has been known to make costumes and the occasional tutu or three

Emma Preece began her dance training at Janet Marshall Dance Studios when she was ten years old and has now been working as part of the team for 12 years.  Whilst studying for her BA (Hons) degree in Community Studies at the University of Gloucestershire she started her teacher training with Mrs Marshall.    

Emma graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2002 and took up her position teaching at Janet Marshall Dance studios.  Emma holds her Certificate in Dance Education teaching qualification in Imperial Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre. Emma has also gained a licentiate of the ISTD and is now a qualified tutor for the Dance Centre.  When Emma is not teaching at J.M.D.S she very much enjoys spending time with her son.

Born in Cheltenham, Sarah spent her early training at Janet Marshall's, and received a scholarship diploma in Jazz dance and Commercial theatre at Elmhurst School for Dance. 

On graduating she was awarded the Sir John Mill Memorial award for performance in Dancing, Singing and Acting.
After a taste of performing she decided that her true love was for teaching and choreographing.
Since then she has gained her teaching qualifications and currently holds the licentiate status of the ISTD.
Sarah joined the teaching faculty at JMDS in September 2006 where she has had the opportunity to choreography for various shows, festivals and ISTD competitions where her successes include being presented with the Gwen Carter Award for choreography at the Marjorie Davis Star Tap awards in 2013.
Sarah has spent time guest teaching at Elmhurst School for Dance and more recently joined their teaching faculty working in both the school and on their Associate programme.

Sarah Harvey was born in Cheltenham and spent her early training at Janet Marshall Dance Studios. She then received a scholarship to complete a three-year diploma course in jazz dance and commercial theatre at Elmhurst School for Dance. On graduating she was awarded the Sir John Mills Memorial award for performance in dancing, singing and acting. After a taste of performing she decided that her true love was teaching and choreographing. She gained her foundation in dance instruction teaching qualifications in imperial classical ballet, modern theatre and tap and is currently studying towards her certificate in dance education. Sarah joined the teaching faculty at Janet Marshall Dance Studios in 2006, where she has had the opportunity to choreograph pieces for many festivals and shows.

Angela Lynch is a qualified nurse with experience in casualty, occupation health and safety and also in GP practices. She has a certificate at level 3 in teaching and assessing as well as an additional qualification in respiratory medicine specialising in asthma and COPD.

Angela has been working at Janet Marshall Dance Studios for the last three years, teaching on both the FDI and CDE courses in Health and Safety and Lifespan Development. This has enabled her to use her nursing experience in a different setting and also allowed her to fulfil a second passion, teaching. She uses several teaching methods; lectures with PowerPoint and class debate, self directed learning, and has also developed CD’s to help with both learning and revision. Angela is currently in the process of developing a website to help with topics and revision.

Louise Partridge was educated at Pates Grammar School in Cheltenham and spent her teenage years being trained by Cheltenham’s finest drama teachers, Enid Barraclough and Janice Keen as well as spending many happy years as part of the Cheltenham Children's Theatre.

She then moved away to train at Redroofs Theatre School before graduating and beginning her working career as an actress. After being asked to return to Redroofs as a part time teacher, Louise discovered a passion for drama in education so went on to gain a PGCE in Theatre and Education from Central  School of Speech and Drama and an MEd at the University of Gloucestershire.  She has taught in many various schools and colleges, becoming Performing Arts Coordinator at the National Star College and Head of Drama at Wycliffe College in Stonehouse and joining the Janet Marshall faculty. Louise later became Head of Education for the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham where she remains whilst running 'TwoCan' her own Inclusive Theatre Company.

Jade started dancing at the age of five with the Bristol Ballet Centre eventually graduating to the Royal Academy of Dancing in London. Jade completed a BA (hons) degree in Ballet Education at the Royal Academy of Dance, gaining a Licentiate. 

She was taught by international teachers, artists and choreographers renowned in the dance field. These included: Frank Freeman, Theresa Cantine, Dr. Susie Cooper, Holly Price, and Joanne O Hara;

In 2009 she moved back to Bristol to start teaching at Janet Marshall Dance Studios teaching both RAD and ISTD syllabus. Jade has now gained much experience, especially coaching for exams and the process of choreography, and enjoys creating classical and Neo-classical ballets for shows and festivals. Jade currently teaches part time in a Local school in Bristol and in 2011 was employed by Elmhurst as a relief associate ballet teacher. Whilst teaching at J.M.D.S she gained both DDI and DDE qualifications in Ballet and Modern and recently achieved a Licentiate of Imperial Classical Ballet and 2 half scholarships from the Imperial Ballet Committee to attend the Intensive Teachers summer school in 2012 and 2013. Jade hopes to further her qualifications and become a recognised ISTD tutor.

Lottie started her dance training at Janet Marshall Dance Studio at the age of 3 where she found her love of dancing and performing and, by the time she left 15 years later she had achieved her ISTD Advanced 2 modern and tap with high Distinctions and had taken her major ballet exams in both the ISTD and RAD syllabus.

In her last year at JMDS she was appointed Head Girl and was delighted to also be offered a place at the prestigious, professional Doreen Bird College in London. Throughout her time at Bird College she received exceptional training in all areas of dance and musical theatre and felt privileged to have been taught by and learnt from some inspirational choreographers. Lottie took part in many shows at the Orchard Theatre Dartford and was appointed Dance Captain in her Graduate Musical. In 2015 Lottie graduated with a 2:1 BA Hons Degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.

Lottie has been part of a show girl dance company in Birmingham and has taken part in many corporate dance events. Whilst training and auditioning, Lottie achieved her ISTD DDI teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern and is now working towards her DDE teaching qualifications. Lottie is a talented performer and technician in dance, but her passion lies with teaching and choreography.

Lottie is delighted to be back at JMDS as a new member of the teaching faculty and is looking forward to giving back her knowledge and experiences to the young dancers, who share the same passion as she does.
