Tamzin grew up in Adelaide, Australia and trained in RAD ballet until the age of 15. She then moved to the UK and started Imperial Ballet and Modern before starting at Northern Ballet School at 16. At Northern she gained her teaching qualifications in RAD Ballet, Imperial Ballet, Modern and National before moving to London Contemporary Dance School for the One Year Certificate in Contemporary and choreography. She started teaching and specialised over the years in Imperial Ballet gaining her Licenciate and then a Masters from Middlesex University in Dance Pedagogy.
Tamzin has taught in many local dance schools including running a dance school for several years. She has also taught in full-time colleges including Laine Theatre Arts, Italia Conti Performing Arts and Wilkes Performing Arts where she taught children and students and prepared students for their teaching qualifications. She loves teaching and seeing children and students develop their passion for dance and the Arts.
Always looking to further her experience and qualifications she has recently gained her certificate in PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique).
Tamzin moved to Bath from South East London 5 years ago with her family. She has 2 adult sons, the eldest is married and lives in Bath and the youngest is at university in America. She is looking forward to teaching at JDMS.
